Biophilic design integrates nature and natural elements, materials and forms into architecture and interiors

Sound attenuation is a measure of the energy loss of sound propagation in media

Collision zones the spaces where unplanned or casual personal encounters take place inside an office

Touchdown booth is a private space for taking a break or phone call away from the noise and distraction of an open plan office environment

Hoteling is the practice of providing a space, either an office but more usually a desk, to employees on an as-needed, rather than on the traditional, constantly reserved basis.

Incubators provide a space for start-up companies to work and typically provide mentoring and structured services to support the start up business.

Co-working is used to describe any situation in which two or more people are working in the same place together, but not for the same company.

Symbiotic offices have internal relaxation zones where workers can host meetings, eat their lunch or have a coffee. The office design strives to highlight the importance of face-to-face interactions between workers.
